Interested in Becoming a HAM Radio Operator?
Anyone can become a licensed amateur radio operator. There is no age limit. A technical background is NOT required. You don't even need to learn the morse code! Classes are normally Saturday & Sunday with the exam given at the end of the class on Sunday.
Cost of the Class as of 1/1/2011 is $55. This includes the License manual, handouts, and VE Test fee.
I have classes almost every month locally

The Technician class License is the Entry level License. The FCC requires that you Pass the Technician Exam before you can take the General Exam.
Starting 01/01/2009 Sign up for a class is not guaranteed until payment is received. Due to a high no show rate late last year I have to require prepayment for classes's in order to secure supplies. You can prepay using Pay Pal even if you do not have a Pay Pal account.
If you would like to teach a class and are looking for materials, the Power Points that I use are available for any non-profit use to teach Amateur Radio classes.
